Care of Purchases
Congratulations on purchasing your unique wood and/or wood and resin item! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating your special item. Caring for your item(s) does not require much time or energy at all. Here are some tips to keep your item looking great.
• Soap and water will dull the surface over time/repetition
o Give it a good buffing with some cotton or microfiber
o It’s okay to add a spot of any cooking oil to the cloth
o If exposed to salt water, rinse well and allow to fully dry
• Alcohol hand sanitizer use will dry and dull wood and resin
o Rub it down with some cooking oil every week
o Give it a good buffing with cotton or microfiber
o Bee’s wax or lip balm with bee’s wax applied will help protect even more
• Mother Nature’s elements can cause some issues
o Cold can make your item shrink
Being cold can make your item brittle and break easily if dropped or in a bind
o Heat can make your item larger and soften the bonds
This can lead to stretching and cracking
Do not leave your item in your vehicle or other places that have extreme heat
If it is too hot for your skin then it is too hot for your item
• Storing
o Keep your item dry when not in use
Oil your item prior to storing
Consider keeping a desiccant packet with your item
o Keep your item in a controlled temperature
Above 40 degrees Fahrenheit and below 110 degrees Fahrenheit
• Enjoy and show off your item
• Let me know if you have any questions, problems, or kudos concerning your item(s)
Thank you, SSA Donna Fesler
